As you may have seen in the last week or two, I have been participating in a Handmade Brooch Swap hosted by Regina of Creative Kismet. Today many of us are also hosting a brooch giveaway.

The brooch is about 3″ in diameter, made by me with pink felt, embroidery floss, and assorted beads.

I forgot to add my favorite flower… so hard. I love the scent of daphne, the variety of Dahlias and the simplicity of calla lillies… I love flowers so much!

My favorite flower is the sunflower, because they are so cheerful.

I love peonies because they are tight little spheres that explode into beautiful fluffy blooms.

I love peonies, the big pink double ones that have more petals that any flower should be allowed. They are so deliciously decadent!
Beautiful brooches!! My favorite flower is the daisy – I love it because to me it embodies cleanliness and sunshine – and it can grow anywhere! it is hardy and beautiful at the same time.

plumeria’s – they remind me of our summer fun on the islands and grandpa pulling them from the tree and spinning them in the yard.
Gardenia’s. They remind me of home. We had several bushes on the path up to the house I grew up in. My mom said my grammy planted them decades before.
Simply beautiful and elegant! Right now my favorite flower is the Paperwhite. It manages to remind me that there is beauty and life during the coldest months here in Yokosuka.
I fell in love with paperwhites in Japan, too! It should be about time for plum blossom season now, too, right?
